Buy a stamp, save the environment.

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

For more than 65 years, sportsmen who wanted to hunt
waterfowl have needed to buy a Duck Hunting Permit stamp
from the Fish and Wildlife Service. Because these duck
stamps are so beautiful, many stamp collectors have bought
them too, even though they're not POSTAGE stamps.

The money earned by the stamps goes to preserve the nation's
wetlands.

["It's helped replace much of the land that has been lost
through industrial and population expansion. Wetlands are
one of the best eco-systems in the world."] [RUNS :11]

Margaret Corcoran Wendy of the Duck Stamp program says one
acre of wetlands can filter more than seven million gallons
of water run-off a year.

For thirty dollars, you'll receive one of the stamps, plus a
certificate with your name on it

Stamp collectors, however, may not find the package exactly to
their liking: The stamp is stuck right on the certificate, and
there's no cancellation to tie it to the paper. Collectors and
hunters, however, CAN buy JUST the stamp for fifteen dollars.

And that's stamp collecting this week.
