Stamps and Surfing The Web
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.
There's an incredible amount of useful information on the Internet; the
trick is to find it.
The general purpose sites serve stamp collecting, too: The search engines,
online encyclopedias, dictionaries, and so on. But there are also some sites
that have specific information useful to stamp collecting.
If you want to look up a dealer, or find dealers with a particular
specialty, try the dealer directories of the American Philatelic Society and
American Stamp Dealers Association. Those U-R-L's are stamps-dot-org and
A-S-D-A-Online-dot-com.
Both sites also have calendars of major stamp shows.
At the Virtual-Stamp-Club-dot-com, there's a calendar that has more shows,
but just for the upcoming weekend.
There's also an article on what to do if you have a stamp collection you
inherited or found, and want to sell, donate or perhaps even revive it.
And all these sites have links to other useful sites.
That's stamp collecting this week.
I'm Lloyd de Vries, CBS News.
