Big Plans
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.
The Postal Service recently gave the stamp collecting press a preview of next year's stamps,
and I talked to Dave Failor, the man in charge of the program.
"I wouldn't say that there's one overriding theme that pulls all the stamps together, other
than we think that we have a great variety of stamps in 2006. Everything from the very serious,
the celebration of Benjamin Franklin and his 300th anniversary to motorcycles and Americans
riding motorcycles around the country and all. So it's just a very good broad-cased program
for 2006."
LdeV: "Big stamp show next year; any special issues for it?"
Failor: "Well, we're very excited the stamp collecting world is coming to Washington, DC, for
the Washington 2006 exhibition."
RUNS :34
And Failor promises some special issues for the week-long show. Other issues next year include
Judy Garland, Ambert Alert and baseball sluggers. You can find more details at virtual-stamp-club-dot-com.
And that's Stamp Collecting this week.
