On with the show!
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.
Once a decade, the U-S puts on the ritz for stamp collecting, says Gordon Morison.
"Exhibits are sent in from 60 different countries of the world's best stamp collections that have
already been screened in their countries so that here, you're only going to see the very, very
finest collections."
RUNS :12
Morison is in charge of Washington Two Thousand Six, which will have more than six hundred
exhibits. Some of them don't come out of the vaults very often...
"...giving you the opportunity of a lifetime to see something that sold for more than a million
dollars - one stamp."
RUNS :07
But the show isn't just for high-rollers....
"(There'll) also be nickel and dime stamps available from our two hundred dealers on the floor
that people can look at and enjoy."
RUNS :07
LdeV: "And what's the admission to get into this?"
GM: "The admission is the best bargain of all - noooo charge."
RUNS :06
Washington Two Thousand Six opens Saturday May twenty-seventh and runs for a week.
And that's Stamp Collecting this week.
I'm Lloyd de Vries, CBS News.
