Looking ahead.

The Stamp Collecting Report. I'm Lloyd de Vries.

Some of the stamps scheduled early in 2009 already stand out.

A number of countries will mark the Lunar New Year, which is the Ox. Many Western 
countries issue these....because they're very popular.

But other stamp subjects are more specific to their countries.

The U-S headliners should be President Abraham Lincoln and, in the spring, entertainer 
Bob Hope, but there will also be stamps early in the year for writer Edgar Allan Poe 
and a dozen civil rights pioneers.

Britain this month is commemorating classic designs...including the MINI-SKIRT...plastic 
chairs...and those iconic double-decker buses.

Australia next month is issuing a set of stamps to honor the country's many inventions. 
They include Speedo swimsuits and the rotary power lawnmower.

Canada later in the year honors SPORTS inventions -- including lacrosse and BASKETBALL -- 
invented in Springfield, Massachusetts, but by a CANADIAN.
