Creating Jobs on Stamps
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries
The decision to allow people still living on U-S stamps has eliminated any waiting period
whatsoever. That makes sense: Why allow living people and people dead more than five years,
but not someone who died recently?
The newly-revised guidelines for stamp subjects talk about people who, quote, "made
extraordinary contributions to American society and culture" and "transformative
achievements."
Like Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
"I think Steve Jobs is going to end up being an inspiring figure because he has, one, a very
interesting story, he was a very larger-than-life personality, and he used that in order to
kind of push through his vision." RUNS :10
says C-Net senior editor Dan Ackerman. And adds fellow Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak,
interviewed on ABC's "Nightline:"
"Almost every personal computer in the world has some Steve Jobs history in it." RUNS :03
The new policy was designed to honor people you know are going to end up on a stamp anyway...
a little sooner.
Like Steve Jobs.
