Can't get no satisfaction.

There are no shellfish in the 20-13 U-S stamp program, but you wouldn't know it from all the
crabbing going on about it. Some collectors don't like anything they see in the designs
unveiled so far.

The Emancipation Proclamation stamp is all text, as if it were a hand-bill or poster
announcing the freeing of the slaves in the Confederate States. Not good enough, some
collectors say — why isn't there a picture?

What would a picture show? A slave auction block? Something even less politically correct?
One of the ways a new law was proclaimed in the days before radio was to post handbills so
that people could see them. It's a stamp about just such a new law.

The Kaleidoscope stamps are intended for business mailers, who want a bright-colored
attention-grabbing stamp. The critics complain there's no cause or person celebrated here.
I think that's the idea — no possible controversy.

I don't expect to like every stamp the U-S issues; why do they?
