The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

As the U-S slowly unveils its stamps for next year, it's fun to take a look at what other
countries have planned.

Both the U-S and Canada will note the second year of the War of 1812... although from VERY
different perspectives.

Canada will also honor the Stella series of children's books, Canadian Rock Bands, Black
History, and Big Brothers-Big Sisters.

It's also the 250th anniversary of mail service in Canada, which was established by...
Benjamin Franklin!

Britain commemorates the London Underground subway system, novelist Jane Austen and
television -- maybe including Dr. Who.

Both countries mark the Queen's 60th anniversary.

Israel notes children's music, and the bicentennial of Italian composer Guiseppe Verdi.

Australia's stamps next year include kangaroos -- what else!

Nearly all countries issue stamps celebrating their holidays... and not a few will mark
the Lunar New Year -- the Year of the Snake.
