Scenes From Washington 2006Saturday, May 27th: Postmaster General John E. Potter and Crohn's disease sufferer Gideon Sofer unveil the Wonders of America stamps at the combination first day of issue and opening-of-the-show ceremony. Washington 2006 president Michael Dixon joins PMG Potter and Sofer after the stamps were unveiled. Michael, by the way, told The Virtual Stamp Club that the hall held 1,000 people, and there were many more there before the fire marshals clamped down and refused to allow anyone else to enter the hall.
