The US Postal Service says customers this year have the widest variety of stamps ever: Last year's Skaters ATM (bank machine) stamps are again
available, and last year's Hanukkah stamps were reprinted for 1997. That's
in addition to the Kwanzaa, Madonna & Child and Holly stamps issued this year. |
  
Germany's two Christmas stamps are semi-postals, or surcharged: They cost
more than the rate of postage. The extra payment goes to a specified
charity, in this case, the Federal Association of Free Welfare Work in
Bonn. |
