Guam but not forgotten.

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

This week the U-S issues a Washington, D-C tourism stamp. It was added to the schedule 
in response to complaints by the District's delegate to Congress that D-C was left out 
of the 50-state tourism series last year.

But Eleanor Holmes Norton wasn't the only delegate to complain: So did Guam's delegate, 
Robert Underwood.  He called the Postal People on the carpet, to complain about 
everything from being overlooked by stamps to the territory's status.

But Underwood didn't run for re-election to Congress. Instead, he ran for governor, and 
was defeated. That was pretty much the end of a Guam tourism stamp....or was it?

Because next year's entry in the Nature of America Series features...Pacific coral reefs.

"We thought well, maybe we can help him get a stamp that would be associated with Guam 
by moving up the Pacific Coral Reefs one."  [RUNS :08]

And chief stamp developer Terry McCaffrey says those ten stamps could be issued next 
year in...Guam.
